Obituary of Fred Triffo

Please share a memory of Fred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Fred was born May 22, 1936 and passed away peacefully on October 10, 2019 and is now joined again with his beloved wife, Jeanne. Fred was predeceased by his wife Jeanne in 2016; his parents Ludwig and Mary Triffo; his brothers; Len, Rynold, Art and Allen; his sister Peggy and her son Roger; parents-in-law Frank and Anne Uhl; brothers-in-law Werner and Allan. He is survived by son Terry, daughter in law Judy and grandson Daniel (Melissa).  He is also survived by his sister Agnes, brothers; Barry (Jean) and Rodney (Margaret); sisters-in-law; Charlotte and Sandra. Fred will also be missed by his in-laws; Jim (Maryann), Larry (Sharon), Don (Trudy), Jo-Anne (Roy), Jackie (Wayne), Diane (Gerry); his bonus mother-in-law Evelyn and bonus sisters-in-law, Sharon (Wally) and Bev. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family on both sides. Fred lived a long life that was filled with hard work and rewarding times with family.  His Dad, Louie, passed away when Fred was in his teens and as the oldest boy he felt responsible to work the farm and guide his younger siblings in any way he could. Fred was a mechanic by trade and also did any other jobs necessary to make a living. As a young man he went away to work on other farms, he co-owned a garage and gas station with family, owned a cleaning company with Jeanne and did other jobs too numerous to mention.  While living in Yellowknife, Fred and Jeanne sponsored a softball team, the Tri-Kleen Silver Bullets. Anything related to the ball diamond was interesting to Fred and he religiously followed the Toronto Blue Jays, always with an opinion on the games, the trades and their playoff chances. He enjoyed the Wizzy card games they played at Jackie and Wayne’s, sometimes accompanied by Barry & Jean. The Triffo siblings got together often for meals and celebrations. He particularly enjoyed the Boehmer family reunions and dancing the polka with Charlotte. Fred’s family offers sincere thanks to Wascana Grace Hospice, whose kind and exceptional care brought Fred and his family great comfort. Fred also wished to express his gratitude to nieces Brandy and Denise for handling all of his medical needs these past 3 years. He got great happiness from his special relationship with great nieces Brooke-Lynn and Cailey, who loved him as only little girls can. Brooke-Lynn and Cailey  would like to invite all who knew him to a Celebration of Life for Grandpa Uncle Fred at Argyle Park Community Center, 35 Davin Crest, Regina on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Wascana Grace Hospice, c/o William Booth Special Care Home, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
