Obituary of Joanne Walter

Joanne Walter 1931 - 2016 Joanne Walter, beloved wife of Alex Walter, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 11, 2016. She was born on September 10, 1931 in Meadow Lake, SK. Joanne was predeceased by her mother Dawn Fuglstad and her father Lawrence Fuglstad as well as her brothers Stuart, Norman, Denny and her sister Shirley. Joanne was also predeceased by numerous cats and dogs that she loved dearly. Joanne will be deeply missed by her husband of 67 years, Alex, her daughter Lori and son-in-law Randy, son Dwayne and daughter-in-law Anwei, grandsons Jereme and Jay Labatte, Anwei's parent's Kuang Bing and Chen Li An as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and her pet cats Peter and Puddy. The family also deeply appreciates the time and care Joanne received from Anwei's sister, Anni, her husband, Dante, and their daughter, Weya. They always made sure Joanne was well looked after when Dwayne and Anwei were living overseas. Joanne had many friends and loved to associate with them every chance she could. She was always ready to "head out for coffee" at the Northgate Mall, Tim Hortons, Robin's, the Greenspot, and the British Tea Room. Joanne loved to spend time with children and was always able to remain young at heart. She was very fond of animals and was a long-time supporter of the Regina Humane Society. Joanne was able to live the way she wanted right until her very last day and for that, the family is very grateful that she was able to truly enjoy her golden years. Joanne loved to watch sports and was a lifelong fan and supporter of the Regina Pats, Regina Rams, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. She was also fan of the Edmonton Oilers. One of her long time wishes was for the Pats to win another Memorial Cup before she passed away. In lieu of flowers those so wishing can make a donation to the Regina Humane Society. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
