Obituary of Hilda Merk

It is with deep sadness that the family of Hilda Merk (Huck) announces her peaceful passing on June 26, 2020 at the age of 92. Hilda was born and raised in Vibank, SK and moved to Regina after completing high school. Hilda married Joe Merk in 1948 and they remained in Regina until their move to AB in 1977. After dad's passing, mom resided with daughter Susan and family until 2019 when she then moved to Victoria Park Personal Care Community in Regina.

After raising her children, mother re-entered the workforce and had a stellar career in Homecare until retirement at age 70. Mother loved sports and played women's hockey as a teenager. Her greatest passion as a sports fan was the SK Roughriders.

Hilda was predeceased by her husband Joe (2006); son-in-law Richard (2019); her parents Adam and Katherine Huck; and her 11 siblings. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her six children Rod (Holly), Lynda (Richard) Gutor, Jocelyn (Dale) Schwartz, Susan (John) Delwo, Kim (Sheila), Patrice (Joe) Kentner. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and many neices and nephews.  

The family thanks the staff at Victoria Park Personal Care Community for their compassion and loving care, we are forever grateful.

A private family service was held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Riverside Memorial Park Cementary. Donations in Hilda's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 2550 - 12th Ave. Regina SK. S4P 3X1.
