Obituary of Eva Tian
It is with great sadness that the family of Eva Tian announces her peaceful passing on September 06, 2020 at Parkside Extendicare at the age of 91. Eva was predeceased by her husband George Joseph Tian and her sons George Jr. and Robert (Bob). Eva is survived by her family: Nancy (Del) Fuchs, Glenda (Gary) Calcutta, John, Sandra (Rob) Carman, James, Wade (Debby) and her 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Mom was born in Grayson, Saskatchewan. She was one of 10 children born to Joseph K. and Annie Gelowitz. Mom was a stay at home mom raising her 8 children. When the children grew older, she got a job at the Plains Health Centre as a CSR Technician and worked there until her retirement. She was very active at St. Mary’s R.C. Parish, and was a CWL member for about 55 years.
Mom and Dad purchased lakefront property at Pasqua Lake and built a summer cabin in 1966 for the family to enjoy the summer months. She planted a huge garden at the lake to provide fresh vegetables for her children and for herself. She donated vegetables to the church at Ft. Qu’Appelle and also gave some to her neighbors and friends. Mom loved it when her children and their families came to visit her. She was an amazing seamstress. She sewed everything from wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, curtains, bedspreads, children’s clothes, etc. Our mother was a wonderful cook and baker. Her homemade buns, pies, perogies, pickles, tomato juice, salsa and ketchup were just some of the things she made. In the winter months mom would make wine.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held. Eva’s Funeral Mass will be livestreamed at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020 at https://youtu.be/JY1NwzIUTYc. The family wishes to thank the North Wing staff at Parkside Extendicare for taking such good care of Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Diabetes Association.
In Loving Memory
