Obituary of Dorothy Leone Clothier
The earthly life of Dorothy Leone Clothier (nee Lutz) of Regina, SK came to a peaceful end with family at her side on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the age of 86 years.
Dorothy was born on July 3, 1934 at Duff, SK to John and Edna Lutz. At an early age the family moved to a farm north of Boharm, SK in 1949. Dorothy then worked at the Moose Jaw General Hospital. After meeting her life partner Elwood Clothier, they were married July 12, 1957. In 1972, they moved to Regina where Elwood’s work was. After the children were in school, Dorothy began working at the Plains Health Centre, from where she eventually retired.
Dorothy was a good cook, enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and travelling. She was a long-time member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She always had a keen interest in her children’s activities and spending time with family was important. Their home was always open to whoever needed a room, a meal, or someone to talk to.
Dorothy’s memory will be cherished by her children; son Bob (Tracie) of Rosetown, SK and their children Jeremy of Fort St. John, BC, and Kelli (Shawn) Emmons of Rosetown, SK and their daughters Hailey and Quinn; son Les (Gail) of Calgary, AB and their daughters Lindsay and Chantal; daughter Pat (Ron) Simmons of Regina, SK and their children Ashley (Dean) Vendramin of Regina, SK and their sons Zach and Xander; Tim (Courtney) of Regina, SK and their sons Dawsen and Hunter; and son Paul (Heather) of Leduc, AB and their sons Corbin, Bennett and Levi. She will also be dearly remembered by her siblings, Richard (Dorothy) Lutz of Spruce Grove, AB, Don Lutz of Red Deer, AB, Florence Rogers of Langdon, BC, Sue (Bob) Constable of Moose Jaw, SK and Paul (Ermie) Lutz of Moose Jaw, SK; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Dorothy leaves us to join her husband Elwood, parents John and Edna; brothers Stan (Marj) Lutz, Glen (Shirley) Lutz, and sister Myrtle (Ron) Hennefent.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Private Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2020 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Hillsdale Street, Regina, SK. The service will be livestreamed, and those so wishing may join us at: https://youtu.be/6LAYVfg76Xc
