Obituary of Mary Ann Murray
Mary Ann Murray (Cairns) late of Regina, SK passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the age of 78 in the Palliative Care Unit at Parkside Extendicare. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Wilfred Murray; daughter Carolyn; parents Harry and Marie Cairns; four sisters Vera (Jerry) Galger, Anita (Keith) Lincoln, Barbara (Carl) Browatzke and Yvonne (Don) Carr and brother Ken. She is survived by her children Darwin, Betty Ann and Raymond; older brothers Howard of Pine Lake, AB and Jerry Galger of Langenburg, SK; auntie Anita Muzyka of Thunder Bay, ON; grandchildren Montana, Jana, Brittany and Jadin; numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary Anne was born and raised in Regina. As a child she would spend the summers in Drinkwater, SK with numerous cousins. After marrying, she stayed at home to raise her children and later in life she changed careers and began working at Mutchmore Lodge and later at William Booth as a special care aide. Caring for the elderly was something that she took pride in which she learnt from her mother. It was only next to cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Mom also enjoyed singing in the choir at St. James United Church, spending time at the cottage, gardening and her love of cats, especially Lily.
The family would like to thank Parkside Extendicare and Dr. Lok for the years of care given to mom.
Due to Covid-19 and the recent restrictions for gatherings, interment to be planned at a later date.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan at 301-2550 12th Ave, Regina, Saskatchewan S4P 3X1 or online at https://alzheimer.ca/sk/en.
In Loving Memory
