Obituary of Leota Francis Ireland

Leota passed away at the age of 97 on Christmas Eve (in time to attend midnight mass with our Lord).  Leota was predeceased by Joseph “Porky” Helfrick and Thom Ireland; son Brian Helfrick and numerous infants; as well as her Mother and Father; siblings Don Vail, Lorraine Helfrick and Clairece Ferguson and several nieces and nephews.  Left to honour her memory are her daughters, Judi (Mike) Paradis and Bonnie (Wayne) Tardif; brother Doug (Millie) Vail; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Leota was a devote Catholic, wonderful Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, and a friend to many.  She was always a gracious lady who loved to entertain, cook, sew and garden.  Leota will be missed by all but we were all very lucky to have had her in our lives. Thank you to the staff at Victoria Park Personal Care Home for all the love they showed Mom.  A memorial celebration for Leota will be held at a future date when family and friends can gather, share memories and celebrate her life.
