My condolences to Chris's family. I had the privilege of knowing Chris for only about the last 9 or 10 years, but over that time I came to appreciate his kindly, gentle nature and immensely enjoyed the many conversations we had about life, the past, the Creator, the Bible, the future, and so many other things. Chris experienced many things in life, good and bad, but through everything he showed resilience and the ability to look at life with a keen sense of humor - ever the jokester, he could always make me laugh. That was a gift he gave to me and to many others. Through his experiences in life Chris accumulated a lot of knowledge. But more importantly, from it all, he gained wisdom and a great deal of insight about people and the world. Those are rare and valuable things. I was proud to call him a friend. Many people will remember Chris, and it is my own conviction that the Creator will remember Chris also. Because of that I look forward to a time in the future when I will be able to have many more conversations with Chris - a time when this earth that he loved is a better and happier place.
