Obituary of Carol Alida Ermel
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Alida Ermel on Friday, March, 19, 2021 at the age of 80 years. Mom passed away with myself and Kerri at her side at Parkside Extendicare in Regina, SK. Carol grew up with five other siblings on the family farm south of Markinch, SK. After high school she went to work in Regina at a dentists office and the local telecom. On June 2, 1962, Carol Ulrich married Philip Ermel in Markinch and they settled in the town of Cupar, where Philip worked for the Coop. Carol worked as a homemaker and raised Mark, their only child who was born in 1965. In 1977, Carol went to work part time as an aide/cook at the Cupar Nursing Home until she retired in the mid 1980’s. Carol was always cheerful and friendly, and loved to cook, play cards and socialize with friends and family. She was known not just for her amazing hugs, but also for her delicious hot dill and yellow bean pickles. Carol enjoyed watching curling and baseball and loved to watch her soaps with a cup of tea in the afternoon.
Carol was predeceased by her husband Philip in 2019; her parents William and Ella Ulrich; sister Helene; brothers Edwin and Harold; and brother-in-law Rick Fuhro. She is survived and loved by her son Mark (Kerri) Ermel; grandsons Evan, Chase and Mason Ermel; sisters Lorretta Fuhro, Sylvia (Harvey) Halbert; sister-in-law Carol Ulrich (Hassman); and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A private graveside ceremony and interment will be held later this year at the Cupar Cemetery. Anyone wishing to make donations in memory of Carol, can do so to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 427 Cupar, SK S0G 0Y0.
In Loving Memory
