Obituary of Robert Verdun McInnis
Robert Verdun McInnis, late of Regina, SK passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, with family by his side. He leaves behind his wife and the love of his life, Joan McInnis; sons Chris (Lee Dodd), Kerry (Heather), Kirby (Grace Staples) and Ken (Marcie); grandchildren, Mitchell, Amy, Connor (Rylee Bereza), Calum (Larissa Makelki), Margaret “Maggie”, and Duncan; and a great grandchild, Elena. Bob was predeceased by his parents William Garfield “Garf” and Edna McInnis and his brother Bill (Helen) McInnis. Bob was a very loving brother, father and grandfather who was always there for his children.
Bob had many interest and hobbies. He was a musician and a founding member of the Regina Lions and Regina Hobby bands, as well as being a long-time member of the Regina Jazz Band-its. Bob was a pilot in his younger days and enjoyed photography, gardening, and wood working. He and Joan also operated a furniture refinishing business for a number of years.
Bob and Joan had a wonderful life and did everything together. They enjoyed their time gardening and walking their many dogs as well as singing in the choir at St. James United Church and in the Forty Niner’s group. Their family loved the lake, and many summers were spent there in the cabin that Bob and his father built together in 1955 at Saskatchewan Beach.
Bob was a kind and gentle soul. Everyone enjoyed his company and his way of making people feel accepted and special. He will be missed by both family and friends.
There will be a private memorial gathering on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 1:30 pm. The event will be livestreamed on Facebook @stjamesunitedregina. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Ave #26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
In Loving Memory
