Obituary of Shirley Lorraine Michalski

Shirley Michalski (nee Yanko) passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK. 

Shirley was born on March 18, 1935 in Melville, SK.  She was predeceased by her husband, Henry (Hank) Michalski; beloved son, Duncan Yanko (Inglis); grandparents who raised her Colin and Mabel MacDonald; and parents Anton and Marion Yanko (nee MacDonald).

Left to carry on Shirley’s legacy is her grandson Anton, her pride and joy. Shirley is also survived by her newly formed family, Rob and Susan Burns, grandson Liam, granddaughter Alisha, and great-granddaughters, Reese and Emmry; as well as numerous cousins and a special friend, Kaylie McDonald. She also made a point of keeping in touch with friends she had met over the years, and many family members. Shirley had a strong connection with her friends (i.e. the Breakfast Ladies) who met faithfully once a week and her friends at the Bentley with whom she played scrabble with.  

A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Ave., Regina, SK with Reverend Jim Balfour officiating.
