Dear Taylor/Heasman family. My name is Joan Stevenson/ Fitzsimmons (Winnipeg). Doug came to live in Lumsden in grade 4 or 5. He was part of the local gang throughout high school. I went to graduation as his date. He was an absolute walking encyclopedia regarding any information on trains and railroads. He had a great sense of humour and always had a Joke ready for you. He was a gentle soul , caring and loyal. He and His wife Sylvia seemed to enjoy lots of things in life including going out to dinner and a few road trips; twice to Winnipeg where he enjoyed being shown around the city by my husband and me. I would have liked to come to the funeral ( my sister Marilyn Hill said it was wonderful) but didn’t get there. Thanks to every who made it so perfect ! I had wanted to send a card to all the cousins but this is the way it is done now. Blessings to you all for the love and loyalty shown to Doug throughout his lifetime. May Doug now rest in perfect peace. Joan
