My sincere condolences on the loss of a very kind, thoughtful, yet practical family member. I occasionally worked with Dorothy at PV. she was a hard worker, who genuinely cared about doing a quality job. I bumped into her years later (after some of her health issues). She seemed to be enjoying life - no resentment or other "baggage". May memories of good times bring comfort to your hearts.

My first recollection of meeting Dorothy was in 1959, when she married my cousin Donald. They would come out to the farm to visit quite often. Dorothy was a quiet mannered person. She would sit quietly amongst her new family, who talked a lot and loudly.
Times weren’t always easy; life threw all of us obstacles to get through and Dorothy had her share of it. Dorothy worked hard, too hard…in my opinion. She was a caregiver through the years, and cared for both children and seniors. She never complained…not to me. Didn’t have unkind words to say about anyone; but, when she did it was called for.
Dorothy loved to sew and was good at it. Sewed a lot for family and friends, and later on in years did alterations for people like me. Dorothy was also a good cook. Her children can speak to that. She is well known for her delicious buns.
Family meant everything to Dorothy. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, loved her extended family, loved her friends and dog. Dorothy was the happiest when she was with family and friends.
Love you, Dorothy
Rest in Peace

Lloyd: Dorothy was a very good sewer and a hard worker--working outside the home and looking after her family. In our early years of marriage my former wife and I lived with her and Donald in separate suites in a rental house on Dewdney Avenue for 2 years where I got to know her really well. We were never in an argument or dispute in all the years I've known her. As well as being a very good sewer, she was a good cook and baker. She loved camper trailers...we went camping years ago and stayed at her mother's place in Penticton.
Kathe: I met Dorothy through Lloyd and found out that before her marriage to Donald she was a roommate in a boarding house with my sister-in-law, Gladys, in the late 1950s when they were both dating their respective husbands, Donald and Jack. Lloyd and I have fond memories visiting with Dorothy on occasions when Sylvia and Howard came to town--on one trip, driving to Yorkton to visit relatives; a family picnic in Wascana Park, and other occasions. Dorothy was always friendly and a nice person.
Our sincere condolences to the family.
Lloyd Armbruster and Kathe Giles
