Obituary of Ivy Meston

Ivy Meston Ivy Meston, nee Tarry, 89 years young, living in Regina, has slipped away in her sleep to be home with our Lord on August 1, 2016. Ivy was born in England. She came to Canada in 1929 settling near Silver Park, SK when she was 2 years old with her parents and seven siblings. Maud, an older sister, stayed behind with her husband in England. Ivy married Chester Whitbread in 1948. They had two children, Leslie (Mary) Whitbread and Alta (Victor) Winkler. Chester passed away in 1951. Ivy then met and married Vern Meston in 1954 expanding the family with 2 stepchildren Ernest and Patricia. Ivy has six grandchildren: Kent, Kendall, Kerry, Karmen, through Les and Mary, and Shane and Candice through Ernest and Connie Meston. Ivy, also, has ten great-grandchildren: Rodderick, Jayden, Merrick, Radley, Asher, and Serena Whitbread; Andrew Meston; Calder, Rhesa and Samuel Petersen. Ivy attended Melfort Commercial College where she trained as a secretary, a real estate agent, and an insurance sales person. After retiring, she completed her degree in Biblical studies at Briercrest College. Ivy had a special connection with the Canadian Blind Mission and enjoyed keeping in touch with all her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sons Les (Mary) Whitbread, Ernest Meston, 5 of her grandchildren, and all her great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Regina Apostolic Church at 808 Assiniboine Ave. E. Regina, SK.
