Obituary of Karen Joyce Nahnepowisk

It is with heavy hearts that Karen’s family announces her passing on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 60 years of age.     She leaves us to join her loving husband Donnie; son Timothy;  parents Elizabeth and Alex; sisters Anita, Marjorie, Caroline, Lorna, Joan and Diane; brother Leon and special nieces Laurie, Barbara and Presalla.

Karen is survived and loved by her children Daniel, Bradley, Robin (Neil), Nathan and Rachel (Reg); her grandbabies who she loved and adored, Baby Nate, Avalynn, Blue-Rain, Malakai, Darrius, Zendaya, Kyrie and Heavenly; as well as numerous adopted children she took in as her own.

The Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at the Piapot Band Hall, Piapot First Nation, SK followed by a Traditional Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the same location.

Karen’s family wishes to thank the staff at the CCU in the Regina General Hospital, all of her home care nurses, the Okeeweehow family, the Chief and Council of Piapot and Key First Nations, Preston Littletent and singers and Elder Everett “Chase” Sayer.
