Obituary of Clara Virjinia Ochoa
Clara Virjinia Ochoa (Abuelita) reached the end of her wonderful life on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at the age of 98. She passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side.
Abuelita was born in El Salvador on August 12, 1924. Through her life, Abuelita lived in Guatemala, Mexico and Canada. She became a successful entrepreneur in her early 20s. Not knowing how to read or write, Abuelita grew a very successful business at the local market where she sold meats during the morning and hot dishes during the afternoons. Abuelita became a great role model for her family, who would later all become Canadian citizens.
At the age of 17, she met her husband Adan Ochoa and went to have 15 children, of which only six survived: Donatila, Feliciano, Juan, Salvador “Chamba”, Jose “Chepe”, Patricia and her niece Castula (loved as one of her own children).
Abuelita was predeceased by her husband Adan Ochoa; and son Feliciano Ochoa. She is survived by: Donatila (Jose), Juan (Gloria), Salvador (Matilde), Chepe (Andrea), Patricia, Castula (Chris), America; grandchildren: Estela, Jose, Mavis, Veronica, Will, Mineth, Henry, Claudia, Karla, Yvonne, Jennifer, Faviola, Ronny, Ricardo, Luis Enrique, Rotmello, Tony, Chanito, Andrea, Manuel, Mariaclara and Rosaura; great-grandchildren: Anthony, Jasmin, Diego, Letecia, Israel, Tytiana, Xavier, Adonis, Gabriel, Enrique, Ricardo, Tatiana, Cristian, Fernando, Nicolas, Adriano, Camilla, Scarlette, Gisselle, Mary, Silver and Santiago; as well as sisters and their children’s.
Abuelita was kind hearted, always laughing, never mad and always had a smile for her family and friends. She loved cooking, listening to music, dancing, travelling and spending time with her family. Abuelita was the first one to get to an event, and the last one to leave. She loved telling stories about her younger years, she had very detailed information about her life events. Forever in our hearts.
Su amor y corazon siempre estuvo en La Laguna Seca con toda su familia Ochoa/Ayala.
We would like to thank the Team at the General Hospital - 5F unit - we are truly thankful for all you did for our Abuelita and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Eastview Community Centre, 615 6th Avenue, Regina, SK.
