Obituary of Gladys Marie Sebastian

1931 - 2023

 

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Sebastian on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the age of 92 years.  Gladys is survived by her children Elaine (Jim), Eldon (Denise), Bonnie (Ron), Kim (Mandy), and daughter in law Lynda; and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband George; son, Scott; parents Edward and Elizabeth Frankl; sisters, Theresa, Emma, Lena, Minnie: and brother Rudy.                               

Gladys had so many talents throughout her lifetime, cooking and baking were her specialties, soups with her homemade noodles, passionate seamstress and was a Tupperware dealer for many years. She canned fruits and vegetables, and berry picking was a must for her raspberry and saskatoon jams.  When Dad was in the field, she ran a tight ship with us kids, from milking cows, and many chores.  Harvesting a huge garden and potato patch was rewarding for the winter months. She was on the Lestock Hospital Auxillary and CWL.  Gladys loved spending time with family and friends, and playing cards was a must whoever came over for a visit.  Sundays after mass was spent with our cousins and grandparents

When Mom had that mischievous twinkle in her eye and a half grin, we knew she was up to something She was caring, intelligent and stern when needed to be.  She taught us respect, but most of all, love.

The family would like to thank the Brightwater,  Nurse's and Staff for the loving care she received, throughout her year's living there.  They were outstanding towards the end of her journey. Mom will truly be missed by everyone she touched their lives with.

A private Celebration of Life will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
