It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Shauna Lea Blacksioux (nee Ironchild). Our much beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt and grandmother. Shauna passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Shauna was predeceased by her grandmothers Flora Ironchild and Agnes Paddy; grandfathers Dave Montgrand “Papa” and Paul Moyah; aunts Lorraine, Noreen and Kelli; uncles Darcy, Gerald “Geronimo” and Cory; cousins Meagan Wapass, Kevin Wapass, Cody Wapass and Mitchel Lewis; and special brother Brian McDonald.

Shauna will be lovingly remembered by her wife Lori Blacksioux; children Jason, Hickson and James Blacksioux; mother-in-law Linda Blacksioux; mother Audrey Rockthunder; fathers Earl Paddy and Mike Rockthunder; sister Danielle Cyr; brother Sheldon Rockthunder (Reagan); nephews and nieces Noah, Kara-Lynn, Creedence and Kehlani; special grandson Michael-Xander “HoneyMan”; special aunt Valorie Ironchild; aunts Claudine and Romona; uncles Wayne, Robert, Glen and Russel; Mushom Charlie Paddy; numerous cousins and friends; along with her extended Blacksioux family, sisters Tracy Arcand, Angela Carrier, Lori Chickinew, Carrie Johns, Charlene Blacksioux, Millie Kayseas, Judy Blacksioux, Lois Desjarlais, Annette Kayseas, Kendra Walker and Phyllis Littletent; special nieces Summer-Skye Carrier, Jaylene Arcand-Carrier and Diamond Blacksioux; grandchildren Kenneth, Darius, JR, Arianna, Easton-Storm, Aurora-Jade, Theory-Jerome, Tianna-Faith, Zuriah, Malachi-Reign; her adopted Littletent family; and Henry Alexson, who she loved and care for like her own child. She was loved by all who knew her.

A Traditional Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Piapot First Nation Band Hall, Piapot First Nation, SK. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the same location. Interment to follow at the Blacksioux Family Cemetery with reception to follow.
