Obituary of Marjorie Nicholson

Marjorie Grace (Lee) Nicholson Marj passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Marj was predeceased by her parents Rodney and Margaret Lee; husbands Alex Nicholson (1967) and Nick Nicholson (2002); sisters Mary Carter, Lois Heffernan; brothers-in-laws Russel Carter, Earl Brown; son-in-law Paul Harbottle. She is survived by Judy Nicholson (Lawrence Morrison) (Jessica, Glen Hamilton & Cosa; Oin; Ben; Sam); June Harbottle (Sonja & Joel Harrison, Ethan, Liam & Koda; Dylan; Brandon; Colton; Kassy); Laurie & Ken Newton (Josh; Justin & Mel, Ava & Everly); Randy (Shane & Mandy, Abby, Cameron, & Lily; Alyssa 7 Brad Nelson; Fawn & Jordon Downey, Thalia; Halston; Selah; Josiah). Marj was born on December 13, 1928 in Moose Jaw, SK, the eldest of 5 sisters and raised on a farm NE of Assiniboia. She lived in Rouleau, Regina, the farm near Wood Mountain, Assiniboia and finally settled back in Regina in 2007. She loved her dogs and cats and was attended by her faithful companion, Bridgette the Bichon, until her last days in hospital. Marj enjoyed dancing, bridge, golf, and many other activities and especially making her home attractive and peaceful. After she moved in Regina she enjoyed attending the Symphony each season with her dear friend Shirley. Grandma had a close relationship with her grandchildren and was so happy to be GG to her great-grandchildren. Marj was spirited and in the words of a neighbor “an indomitable but gracious lady”. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3510 Queen St., Regina, SK.
