Obituary of Jereme Blue Labatte
It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our son Jereme Blue Labatte of Regina, Saskatchewan on Friday, July 21, 2023. He was 46 years old.
Jereme led a successful happy life as a young boy. He enjoyed playing hockey, softball, basketball and golfing; all sports that his dad got him started in and coached him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his Grandfather Alex Walter. He won the Junior Bow Hunter of the Year award in 1992 for Saskatchewan. Jereme enjoyed his high school years as well. He was a very successful debate team member with his partner Jerred Moore and Coach Mr. Rossmo. They won or placed in many debate competitions. Jereme was selected to represent Saskatchewan in the Western Regionals debate competition in Prince George, BC in 1994. Jereme entered the University of Regina at the age of 17. He went on to complete two degrees, Bachelor of Education degree in 2001, and Bachelor of Arts degree in 2003. We are proud of him for completing these two degrees.
Jereme will be lovingly remembered by his mom and dad, Lori and Randy (Blue), and his brother Jay and sister in law Ari. Jereme is predeceased by his grandparents Joanne and Alex Walter, his grandmother Erma Stellek nee Labatte, and a very special Great Aunt and Great Uncle, Flo and Orville Torgunrud. Jereme’s interment of ashes were placed at the grave site of. Aunt Flo and Uncle Orville. Jereme lived with mental illness for his entire adult life. He is to be commended for overcoming the obstacles that mental illness placed on him as he did try to overcome them several times.
Those who so wish can make a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Regina Branch in Jereme’s memory. A celebration of Jereme’s life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the Mental Health Services Health Care Team in Regina for the support and care that they demonstrated to Jereme over the years. Adapted from a popular Country and Western song “Jereme had his moments, he had his days in the sun, he had his moments when he was second to none.”
In Loving Memory
