Obituary of Marcia Schulz
After a courageous battle with cancer, Marcia went to meet her Lord and Saviour on Thursday October 5, 2023.
Marcia was predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Rosemary Dohms; and father-in-law, Karl Schulz. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Herb Schulz; daughter, Alicia Schulz; sister, Faye (Kelvin); brother, Wesley Dohms; mother-in-law, Barbara Schulz; sister-in-law, Doris (Craig) Hagan; brother-in-law, Mark (Cora Lee) Schulz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marcia grew up on the family farm outside of Fenwood, SK. She started her education at the Fenwood school and completed her high school in Melville, SK. Then, Marcia went on to Siast in Regina taking medical health records. Her first job after completing her Siast education was at the Fort Qu'Appelle - Indian Hospital in the health records department. She had a number of jobs, and her last job was with Alan Blair Cancer Center in Regina for the last 26 years in the health records department.
Marcia had a number of hobbies, one of them was collecting people's birthdays and anniversaries. She had a binder with 366 pages in it. On one side of the page, Marcia put their birthday on it and the other side of the page she put their anniversary on; and yes she had some birthdays on February 29, but no anniversaries. Marcia tried to wish a lot of those people on her birthday calendar a happy birthday or a happy anniversary. Another one of her hobbies was keeping records of the John and Mathilda Dohms family. As they had 14 children, with her dad being the youngest. Marcia tried to keep track of the birthdays and anniversaries of her cousins, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was contacted numerous times by relatives for information.
Marcia loved to spend time with her daughter Alicia, if it was teaching the Preschool Sunday School Class together in church or helping out Alicia with her newest venture of selling books or going out for ice cream or any other number of things. They also liked travelling, if it was short trips or longer trips. Their last short trip was up to Saskatoon and Borden in the middle of September and their last long trip was an Alaskan Cruise this past summer taking Herb along with them. The next trip Marcia and Alicia were planning was in November to Calgary to help Samaritan's Purse with the packing of shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, for third world countries.
We would like to thank the doctors and caregivers of unit 3B of the Pasqua Hospital for the exceptional care that Marcia was given and the kindness shown to her family.
An Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK. A Celebration of Marcia's Life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 437 Broadway Avenue East. Flowers graciously declined. Donations in memory of Marcia may be made to Samaritan's Purse, 20 Hopewell Way NE, Calgary, AB T3J 5H5 or a charity of your choice.
