Obituary of Cora Marie Obey

Cora Obey was born February 21, 1932 on Okanese First Nation. Cora is from Piapot First Nation, where she spent time raising her family. She lived out the remainder of her beautiful life in Regina, SK. Cora was graciously cared for by her daughter Arletta; granddaughters Kristy, Carol-lee (George) and grandson Harlan (Amanda).

She started her journey home on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the age of ninety one. Cora was surrounded by an abundance of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Cora will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Karen and Arletta; son Conrad; sisters Buffy St. Marie, Brenda and Lillian. She is predeceased by her parents Emile and Clara Piapot, and husband Joseph Obey; brothers Alvin and Ron; daughters Evelyn (Missy) and Marilyn; sons Ron, Brian, Rodney, Lionel and Conroy; grandchildren Farrah, Justin, Michael, Sonja and Marlon.

Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Piapot Band Hall, Piapot First Nation, SK with Elders officiating.

“Tiny kokum” will be dearly missed by all who loved and cherished her company, forgiveness and unconditional love.
