I just recently heard of Evelyn’s passing. I married and moved to Oshawa in 1965 and went to work for Marks and Mc Neeley where I had the pleasure of meeting Evelyn She took me under her wing and made me feel welcome right away. After I left to start my family I started a new career as an interior decorator and was very happy to work with her when she sold the farm and moved into her apartment. I remember how thrilled she was that first day when she realized that she could see the silo on the farm from her balcony. We kept up our relationship for a number of years through our association with the United. Church. Unfortunately we lost touch when I moved to Fenelon Falls in 2000 but I have never forgotten this very special lady. It was an honour to have known her.

Evelyn and I travelled together on a CAA tour. It was called an Amish tour, on the history of Amish and Hutterite people and their communities in Philadelphia and Ohio. We were both very interested in the history and living styles of the people. We also chatted in the bus as we travelled from place to place. The tour was about a month long and we became quite good friends over that period of time, and in many ways our lives had been similar. She was a lovely lady and an agreeable
friend. Best wishes to the family and sympathy on her passing. Verda Petry

The last time I was with your mom we were talking about and discussing urns. That was just after your dad died. I realized just how strong she was in being part of and supporting the courageous and innovative and continuous downtown ministry in Regina. She not only knew what was going on but contributed her work and ideas to the formation and the base ... giving the churches a chance to analyze the need and contribute their voices to address government. How proud you can be that that work continues to this very day!
Evelyn’s sense of humor and her joy made me wish I lived in Regina and could be more part of her life!
Love to you all, Pat Krug
