1941-2024
George William Cooper passed away peacefully in Regina, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the age of 83. George was born January 21, 1941 in Melita, Manitoba to Jack and Elizabeth (nee Miller) Cooper. George spent many of his early years in Maryfield, Saskatchewan. George was married to Judy (nee Miner) on April 13, 1962, and lived and raised their family in various locations throughout Manitoba including Grandview. For George, his family came first and his love for his children and grandchildren was unwavering and unconditional. George was a man of great integrity, compassion and care for other people, always offering a helping hand and tirelessly supporting the communities where he lived. George was well known for his woodworking skills and loved spending time gardening. George will always be remembered with great reverence by all whose life he has touched. While George has left us, he now re-joins with his loving wife, Judy, in God’s Garden where they can dance eternally.
George was predeceased by his beautiful wife, Judy; father, John and mother, Elizabeth (nee Miller); brother, Trevor Cooper; daughter-in-law, Michelle Cooper (nee Bates); mother-in-law, Lovina and father-in-law, Stan Harrison; brothers-in-law, Norm Short and Ed Harvey; and sister-in-law, Marlene. George leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Kevin (Rowena), Kerry (Cheryl), and Kent (Shelly); daughter, Jolene (Todd) Cartwright; grandchildren, Chandelle Salm (James), Raegan (Gray), Brooke (Aleks) LaRocque, Daniel (Cassandra), Kaitlyn, Vanessa and Ally “Cat”, Japhia, Hayden, Taylor (Devin) and Reid (Caitlyn); great-grandson, Declan; sisters, Thelma Short (Lawrence) and Pat Luterbach; brother-in-law, Rick (Brenda) Miner; as well as a host of other family, friends and neighbors. A Celebration of George’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue, Regina, SK with Rev. Carla Blakley officiating.
