Obituary of Linda Elaine Prizeman
Linda Elaine Prizeman (nee Hoar) passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the age of 71. Left to grieve are her children, Angie (Patrick) Lott, Lisa Prizeman and Chris (April) Prizeman; grandchildren Alexa Lott, Taylor (Klinton) Pethick, Brooklyn and Rylan Lott, Kurtis and Erik Ferguson, and Lucas and Jacob Prizeman; great-granddaughter Olivia; sister-in-law Wendy (Dale) Hoar; brother-in Law Jim (Audrey) Prizeman; as well as numerous cousins, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends that had become family over her years.
Mom lost her one true love, Al, last year just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. She was also predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Hilda Hoar; brother Dale Hoar; Dad’s parents, Roy and Jean Prizeman; and brother, Wayne Prizeman.
While mom never wished to survive dad, she did with courage and exceeded her own expectations. She had a great year of new adventures, moving into her own apartment, witnessing further development of the house at the lake, and traveled solo to Arizona this winter.
She loved “Lake Life” and was very proud of all our hard work to help dad build the house at Pelican Pointe. The Pointe was a big part of her life since she was young and has left us all with that same love for the beach. Winters down south were also dear to her and dad both. It is fitting that she got back this year to spend time with friends and enjoy the sunshine.
Mom enjoyed reading, crocheting/knitting/needlepoint, playing card games/socializing, and travel. Her talents with yarn have been enjoyed by many babes in blankets over the years. After an illling-fated attempt at roller skating, came league bowling, and aquacise. Mom’s obsession with the colour pink was always prominent and even intensified when dad bought her a 1971 Dodge Challenger and painted it Panther pink. She was very proud to have her own pink car to take to cruise nights and car shows.
Mom stayed home when we were young and raised all three of us, frequently outnumbered while dad was on shift at the firehall or at many of the abundant side gigs. All whilst volunteering at the school, donating/volunteering for Canadian Blood Services, and participating with the RFD ladies’ auxiliary, and trying new adventures.
After the youngest of us reached high school, she took up clerical work and became a medical receptionist for many years before retirement.
To those that are able, please join us for a Come and Go Celebration of Linda’s Life hosted at The Serb Club, 2775 Avonhurst Drive, Regina, SK on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please wear something pink and join us for some of mom’s favorite things, wings and ice cream.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Pasqua Hospital - Unit 5D for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Nature Conservancy Canada – Saskatchewan Grasslands Conservation Project, https://www.natureconservancy.ca/en/where-we-work/saskatchewan/stories/a-remarkable-landscape.html
