Obituary of Roy Matthews

It is with sadness that the family of Philip “Roy” Matthews announce his passing on Sunday, August 25, 2024 with family by his side at the age of 89. He was predeceased by his daughter Marietta and brother Danny. Roy is survived by his loving wife Nellie; children Marty (Faye) Matthews, Leasa (Brad) Juravinski, Lanny Matthews and Jerri Matthews; grandchildren Shauna-lee (Corey) Chambers, Stacey (Devan) Brandon, Elizabeth Juravinski, Breanna (Cole) Ware and Brittney Ware; great-grandchildren Oak-lynn and Laik-ynn Chambers, Sophie Matthews, Harrison and Luke Crossley; sister Mary Jackson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Roy was born in Regina, SK and grew up on the family farm near McLean, SK. He taught school in numerous small towns. As well, Roy farmed many years on the family farm. After retiring from farming, he went on to Pastor at several churches over the years. Roy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
