Obituary of Donald Henry Hassman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Donald Henry Hassman on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the age of 63.

Don was born in 1961 in Semans, SK to Henry and Marion Hassman. Don was known for his gentle and kind nature, complemented by his striking blue eyes. He met the love of his life, Karen, in January 1979, and they were married in July 1981, building a beautiful life together in Pilot Butte while raising their children. They welcomed their son, Dustin, in 1983 and their daughter, Melissa, in 1987. Don had a passion for camping and fishing, and he recently enjoyed growing different varieties of peppers and tomatoes in his garden.

You could always find Don with some little project or tending to a task, making him the go-to fix-it guy for friends and family. He was especially devoted to his two dogs, Molly and Meeko, who brought him much joy and companionship. His love for them reflected his caring spirit and the warmth he shared with those around him.

Don is survived by his wife, Karen; and her son Dustin (Bree) and their children, Henry and Livi; and daughter Melissa and her daughter, Gabi. He is also survived by his sisters, Heather (Doug) and Linda (Terry); as well as in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Don is preceded in death by many family members, including beloved in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regina Humane Society in honour of Don's love for animals. A Funeral Service celebrating Don's life will be held at a later date, where we will honour the kindness he brought to all our lives.
