Obituary of Natalia Giannina Trevisan
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Natalia Giannina Trevisan (nee Battaglia) who passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the age of 93. Natalia will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Rosanna (Bill) Thompson, Gabriella (Wayne) UnRuh, and Daniella (Stacey) Kulcsar. She was Nonna to seven grandchildren, Sierra (Jordan), Brandon (Claire), Rachel (Kyle), Taylor, Lauren, Brett, and Tyler; and Bisnonna to two great-grandchildren, Bennett and Giada. Natalia is also survived by relatives in Italy including her sister, Bertilla; and brothers, Mario and Camilo. She was reunited with her loving husband of 59 years, Giovanni; parents, Giulio and Italia; and brothers, Idiano, Luiggi, Albino, and Luciano.
Natalia was born on February 6, 1931, in Loria Veneto, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1957. She worked hard, starting at a very young age, and continued that work ethic throughout her life. After retirement, she was very generous with her time and spent countless hours volunteering at Victoria Park Care Home as well as with many other community groups, including the G. Marconi Italian Club.
During her life, Mom enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes including crocheting, tending to her flowers, making pizzas, shopping, watching Italian programing, doing word searches, puzzles, and playing cards. Mom made friends everywhere she went and loved inviting them over to her house for a meal or a pasta making session. She was genuine, compassionate and had a welcoming smile that drew people to her. She loved talking and sharing stories with others and was a great listener. Mom was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her, offering her support and unconditional love. She loved spending time with her daughters, whom she was very proud of, her sons-in-law who she treated like her very own, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who put a smile on her face. Mom loved her family more than anything. We will miss her dearly and she will forever be in our hearts.
Our family would like to thank the Palliative Care team for the assistance they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angels 4 Warmth.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Natalia’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Resurrection Roman Catholic Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, SK.
