Obituary of Doreen Mary Ewen

It is with sadness that the family of Doreen Ewen (formerly Fensom, nee Young) announce her passing on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the age of 87 years. Doreen was predeceased by her parents Frances and Jack; sister Mary Ann Young (Sister Anastasia, SSS); husband Garry Ewen; and first husband George Fensom; daughter-in-law Lorraine Benko. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Larry) Woodley of Regina, SK, and their children Krista and Robert (Tayneal Smith); son Clayton Fensom and his children Jared Fensom (Brandy Webb) and their daughter Hanley; Justin (Jill) Fensom and their children Emmie and Easton; Becky Fensom and her daughter Amelia; daughter Jan Fensom (Michelle Boisvert) of Kelowna, BC; daughter Donna (Norm) Kolish, their children Anastasia and Olivia Kolish and Hannah (Greg) Hudson and their children Anders and Adelyn; siblings Geri (Bruce) Drake, Clarence Young of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK, Richard (Linda) Young of Sarasota, Florida, Phyllis Young (Mike Diener) of Mission, BC and Ken (Nancy) Young of Moose Jaw, SK.

Doreen was born on February 25, 1937 in Vibank, SK. She moved to Regina shortly after, where she worked at various clerical and retail stores in the city. Doreen had a witty sense of humour, her favourite reply after asking how she was doing, "Just Lovely."

Doreen had an immense love for her grandchildren. Any time spent with them was always cherished. She was an avid 10-pin bowler. Doreen participated in and won many bowling tournaments over the years. She loved to crochet, and her family and friends enjoyed her beautiful creations; as well as  partake in a good game of cards. Doreen loved gardening and always had the most beautiful flowers in her garden.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK.
