Obituary of Thomas Ireland

Thomas Ireland Thomas Ireland, age 88, of Regina SK passed away on December 17, 2016 surrounded by loving family. He was predeceased by his parents James and Elizabeth, sister Janetta (Netta) Henderson and his daughter Shelley Carpenter (Doug). He is survived by his wife and kindred spirit Leota, his children Allan (Patti), Donna (Garry) Yamashita, Russell (Jacquie) and Patty (Alvin) Martindale and Leota’s children, Judi (Mike) Paradis, Brian Helfrick, and Bonnie (Wayne) Tardif, along with numerous well-loved and loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom was born in Kirkudbrightshire, Scotland and emigrated to Canada as a young man in 1950. He worked in various fields including as a farm labourer, RCMP officer, highway traffic officer, as well as at the Saskatchewan Safety Council and SGI. He was a proud bagpiper and instructor with the Fraser Pipe Band, before he retired in Sedley, SK. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, 2170 Albert St., Regina, SK.
