Muriel Gladys (nee Ames) Howden
October 31, 1924 - January 26, 2017
Muriel passed away at William Booth Special Care Home at the age of 92 years. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard in April 2003, her parents Maggie and Fred Ames, brothers Swanie, Fred, Tommy and sister Leora. Muriel is survived by her children: Pat (Sandy) Howden, Penny (Don) Tomkinson, Colleen Seminuk (Bill) and Cindy Howden. Grandchildren: Steve (Cheryl), Leah (Andrew), Riley (Ashley), Kevin (Cara), Kelly (Tamsen), Jaime (Dante), Trevor (Jaime), Amber (Russell), Tyler, Shane (Jaylene); great granchildren: Breanna, Karter, Amelia, Samanatha (Brandon), Alycia, Brydon, Maddison, Kealy, Zoey, Tyrese, Tayshon, Angelina, Makayla, Alicia, Brooke, Jaelyne, Kaylee, Rayna, Ryan, Kennedy, Lauren, Dylan & Emerson; great great grandchildren: Kaylum and Sophie. Mom will be missed by Diandra who Mom loved like a granddaughter; sister-in-law Lorraine Johns (Stettler, Alta.) and special nephew Keith (Donna) Ames (Drayton, Ont.). Muriel was born October 31, 1924 in Tugaske, SK, she grew up and went to school in Moose Jaw, SK. Muriel and Len were married on December 3, 1948. They lived in Moose Jaw until 1966 and then moved to Regina while Len was working for the CNR. Mom always had a big heart and believed family is everything. Muriel's family would like to thank everyone at William Booth for the care they gave Mom and especially in her last week. A private Family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
