Obituary of Richard Melvin Gunderson

Richard Melvin “Mel” Gunderson With great sadness we announce that Mel passed away Sunday morning, January 29, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Mel was born on the farm in the Kipling area December 5, 1927 to Martin & Clazina (Tinty) Gunderson.. He took his schooling in the area, moving to Regina in 1954. He worked 10 years for the provincial government, Department of Mineral Resources, then went to the Federal Government PFRA, Supply & Services and finally RCMP Depot Division, taking early retirement in 1988 so he and his wife Marion could travel and enjoy many years in Weslaco, Texas and other locals. Mel was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Clazina, and brother Arthur. He is survived by his wife Marion, of 59 plus years; nephew David (the son we never had) and his wife Leanne, niece Sharon, nephew Trevor Janson & Sharon Gunderson, Jon and Karli and Carver Engel and many many nieces and nephews from Marion’s family.
