Obituary of Margaret Jean Baker

Margaret (Jean) Baker February 6, 1922 – February 22, 2017 Margaret passed away peacefully on February 22, 2017, at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her husband James; parents George and Myrtle Reid and brother William (Bill) Reid. Her memory will live on forever in those who loved her. Left to mourn the loss of Margaret are her children Douglas (Janice), Kenneth (Joanne) and Glen (Charmaine); grandchildren Brett, Kristian (Jeff) and Paul (Lisa); great grandchildren Abigail and Briece Coller and Ruby Schubert-Baker and sister-in-law Mary Wildman. Margaret was a quiet gentle person. A stay at home mother, she worked diligently to provide a home where love, respect, and traditional values were emphasized. She treated everyone with kindness and respect and will be fondly remembered for her integrity, commitment to family and friends. Margaret enjoyed a happy, healthy retirement often in the company of her family or lifelong friendships developed through volunteering, travel, square dancing and curling. The family wishes to thank the staff at Princess Villa and Extendicare Sunset for their unparalleled care and compassion. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends, so desiring, may make a donation in Margaret’s memory to a charitable organization of choice. At Margaret’s request there will be no funeral. Typical of James, he has waited for Margaret and they will now be laid to rest together in a private family interment at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Forever present in our hearts, dreams, and our memories. Forever loved.
