Obituary of Phil Hewson

Phil Hewson
"Well I had a pretty good life" was the first remark Phil said upon learning on April 20th that it was cancer that would write the last chapter of his full 90 years of family, friends, work and play in Regina. Phil's last week was spent surrounded by his children, grandchildren, close friends, and watchful eyes and management of the incredible staff at the Pasqua Hospital palliative care unit. Phil was always in awe of the amount of love that surrounded him.
Phil's constant companion since childhood is his sweetheart Sheila, married for more than 68 years. While raising their three children, Donna, John, and Joni, they enjoyed a full life filled with many close friends and a close loving family.
Phil was a veteran who loved golf, cars, the outdoors, great food, a cold frosty beer, along with telling fantastic entertaining stories.
Phil's legacy will be his family and friends who will remember a kind and generous man who always did his best.
Phil is survived by his wife Sheila, children Donna (Doug) Ireland, John (Lisa) Hewson, Joni (Don) Reeves, grandchildren Brett (Krystal), Lee (Kim), Taylor (Nicole), Connor (Lindsey), Megan, Carter, Karmyn (Ryan), Jared, and great-grandchildren Kavan, Farrah, and Wesley. Step-grandchildren Matt and Jack. Also survived by Karen Juckes, siblings Hetty Alexander, Thelma Reid, Audrey Lockyer, Keith (Shirley) Hewson, Charlotte (Obie) Oberthier. Predeceased siblings John Hewson and Anita Lewis.
