Pastor Darlene Rose Kennedy
August 7, 1948 – October 26, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is predeceased by her grandparents, parents James Crane and Justine Strongeagle nee Johns; husband Edwin (Sub) Kennedy (2012); grandchildren Michaelynn Brass (2004), Kiona Oake (2007); brothers Alvin (Bud) Strongeagle, Vern Strongeagle, Elmer Strongeagle and Darwin Strongeagle; sisters Leona Hather, Verna Ketchemonia, Ivy-Jean (Jeanie) Sentes and Sandra Pelletier. Darlene is survived by daughters Bonnie (Jason) Anaskan, Jolene (Jesse) Courtney, Calista Kennedy; sons Harold (Misty) Courtney, Justin (Stephanie) Kennedy; brothers Warren (Sonny) Crane, Dean (Noella) Strongeagle; sister in law Charlene Strongeagle; grandchildren Sundance (Sunshine), Chantelle (Colton), Charity, Angel, Dylan, Harold III (Robin) Dakota, Harlyn, Taylor, Jamie, Carson, Jordanna, Rylan and Lily; great grandchildren Colton, Michaelynn, Gracie, Waynonah, Keariah, Marek, Sundrea, Aniah, Sundance, Sunrise and Scarlett. Darlene was born in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK and grew up on Pasqua Reserve. In her 30’s, she then dedicated her life to ministry where she went to Bible College at Vancouver Native Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Upon graduation she was ordained. Darlene loved all her relatives far and near. She will be greatly missed.
Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Muscowpetung School Gym, Muscowpetung First Nation with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 from the same location with Pastor Edmund Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Asham Beach Cemetery, Pasqua First Nation, SK.
