Obituary of Muriel MacRae

MURIEL MACRAE February 3, 1930 – November 19, 2015 Muriel MacRae (nee Craig) passed peacefully at her home in Regina Beach this past Thursday. Muriel was predeceased by her mother and father Dan and Loretta Craig, her siblings Winsome, Esther, June, Donnie, Carl, Charles. She is survived by her sister Evelyn. Muriel was born and raised in Ottawa and married Bill MacRae in 1953. They had four children – Fraser (Debbie), Cindy, Graham (Heather) and Rebecca. Muriel and Bill moved to Regina in the summer of 1960 when Bill (RCMP) was transferred from Ottawa to Regina. They lived at “Depot” until Bill’s retirement from the Force in 1979. Shortly thereafter they made the move to their home in Regina Beach. Muriel lost her daughter Rebecca in 2013 and Bill passed in 2014. She has been blessed by grandchildren Dan (Christy), Katelynn, Will (Myriam), Taylor (Angie) and Allison (Mike Mira) and great grandchildren Ava, Madison and Sophie. Muriel will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family and a wide range of friends. She had an indomitable spirit and strength; she loved to host parties, cook and entertain, was a fixture at the Regina Beach Golf Club and will be remembered for her feisty character and kind nature. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the RCMP Chapel at Depot Division with reception to follow at the Depot Officers Mess. Additionally, there will be an informal gathering in Regina Beach at the Waterfront Beach Bar and Grill that same day from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Muriel’s name may be made to Community Living Timmins through their website at www.communitylivingtimmins.com
