I met Wayne when we went to University in the fall of 1963 in Saskatoon; we attended classes together. Later, we met again in my home town of Moose Jaw when he was going to school there; he had a very fast 1960 black Ford. A few years ago, I was travelling with a friend to Yuma, AZ and we stopped in Climax, Sk.; I asked about Wayne and was told the farm was just north of town. What made me think of Wayne was reading the obituary of a Saskatoon friend, Carol Roberts (Hanlon) who had passed away in 2017 and she was also from Climax. Many fond memories of Wayne; a very nice, quiet fellow; the last time I saw him was in Regina and he had a 340 Chrysler muscle car I believe. My sincere condolences to the family; it sounds like he had the life he wanted and was well respected.

Wayne had a gift for assembling designing and making mechanical things work. I remember him with his hard hat on in his van on the job at Sask Tel. His work left many marks on the streets of Regina which are standing up to the tests of time, I can still hear his laughs and chucklels in happy get togethers. I just learnt of Wayne"s passing from a SaskTel Pioneers publication. I offer my condolences to Wayne's family and May He Rest In Peace !

I was shocked and saddened yesterday when Mary phoned to let me know. We only just returned from our winter stay in Az. and hadn't heard.
I've probably known Wayne longer than almost everyone, dating back to our elementary school days in Climax.
It was so nice to meet up with Wayne years later with friends from Sask Tel that gathered at the Teachers Club.
Wayne did the electrical wiring in our rumpus room in the early 70's.
He'd phone me, in the last few years, when in town to go for coffee.
You will be missed my old friend.
Sincere condolences to Mary and family.

So sorry to hear this sad news from my brother. I have fond memories of Wayne, when my sister Mary and I travelled as teenagers to visit our brother, Johnnie, who was working on the farm in Climax. Wayne picked us up at the Regina airport after our first ever flight! Such hospitality offered by such friendly folks! We will never forget.

My condolences to the family. I still remember Wayne taking us kids for a ride in his old army truck. Many memories growing up with Wayne as the father of my best friend of that time, I hope all of you remember him fondly and your memories help you through this difficult time.

I was shocked to hear of Wayne’s passing. We talked just a few days before he passed and I had no idea it would be our last conversation. I met Wayne in 1964 at STI in Moose Jaw and we have been friends ever since. We didn’t have a chance to visit regularly since I moved to BC, but kept in touch with daily emails and occasional phone calls.
I considered Wayne as not only my Best Friend but one of my Oldest Friends and will miss him dearly!
