Norm was indeed a truly unique person. He was known as the “Good One”, a true legend, by his family and friends. He faced many challenges with determination and resilience. Norm was an industrious, honest, loving and generous man, those traits and values are instilled in his children. Norm had many accomplishments through his life. He was most proud of his family, being a journeyman electrician and successful business man. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed a good meal and loved sharing his table with family and friends. He was a great story teller. His love for reading and history were often topics of good conversation. He loved old time country music. He was a self-taught gifted musician, able to play the guitar, banjo, fiddle, dobro guitar and steel guitar. Those who knew Norm are richer for that experience and mourn the loss of such a wonderful man. In 1958, Norman Leo Serbu was the founder and incorporated a company Serbu & Sons Ltd. Suppliers of Sand & Gravel. In the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s he was involved in the construction of many of Saskatchewan’s roads and highways. In 1979 Norm re-incorporated N.L. Serbu & Sons Equipment Ltd., a successful Sand & Gravel Landscape supply business. Please feel free to drop by “Norm’s home base” at 530-12th Ave E, Regina for a coffee or say hello. A sincere thank you to Dr. Loks and the wonderful staff at William Booth for their love, kindness, compassion and care over the past few years. At Norm’s request there will no formal funeral service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Norm will be laid to rest beside his wife Emma at Riverside Park Cemetery.
