Obituary of Michael Kalynuk

KALYNUK, Michael

The family wishes to announce the passing of Mike on October 8, 2018 at the age of 92. Mike was predeceased by his parents John and Rose Kalynuk; brother William and brothers-in-law Gary Wells and Ehor (Michael) Koshowski. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gladys (Koshowski) Kalynuk; daughters Mikalyn Kalynuk and Paula Zatylny (Howard); grandchildren Carrie Bailey (Brandon), Matthew and Kaitlyn Zatylny; great granddaughters Emme and Eva Bailey; sister Rose Wells and sister-in-law Sharon Koshowski. Mike was united in marriage to Gladys in 1953.  He was a licensed motor mechanic by trade. They resided in several communities where he was involved in various enterprises eventually settling in Canora where they raised their family and resided for 45 years.  Mike retired in 1982 at the age of 56; later moving to Regina in 2005. Mike became active in the community as a member of the Kinsmen and Lions Club as well as joining the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Decent of the Holy Spirit Prosvita. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Ukrainian Orthodox Church Descent of the Holy Spirit, 1305-12th Ave., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of your choice.
