Obituary of Joseph Gottlieb Harmer
HARMER, Joseph Gottlieb
September 26, 1923 – October 11, 2018
Joseph Harmer passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 11, 2018 at the age of 95. He was born in Pilot Butte, SK, moving to Regina in his teens. Joe was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Lena; his parents George and Katherine; his sister Anne; brothers Ron and Bill; his nephews Danny and Donny. He is survived by his daughter Gayle (Robin); his son Garry (Marja) and his loving grandchildren Shauna and Kevin (Monique); great grandchildren Heather and Tristyn. Joe worked as a welder at Northern Western Iron Works then moving to PROCOR Ltd., where he served 37 years until his retirement. Joe was particularly good, working with his hands, building several houses in Regina which he and his family resided. He also did many welding projects for family and friends. Joe had a very big heart for his grand dogs Mysty and Sydney who loved him unconditionally. He spent many days enjoying their company when asked to look after them. He loved a good game of cribbage, enjoyed teaching his grandchildren at a very young age. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and all that knew him. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held. Huge thank you to the staff at Golden Prairie Home in Indian Head, making his stay a happy time, he always talked about how good the staff was to him. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saskatchewan Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Inc. (non-profit) would be appreciated.
In Loving Memory
Joseph Harmer
