Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mary Seidlik, nee Borowski, passed away October 12,2018. Mom came into this world December 20,1933 on a farm near Wishart SK. Pre-deceased by parents Joseph and Bernice; brothers Isaac, Joe, Frank, Wallace and Walter; sister Helen; brother-in-law Steve; sister-in-law Marge. Survived by children Brian (Joan), Ronald (Barb), Grant; grandchildren Logan (Kayla), Alexandra, Wyatt (Samantha), Caroline, Brandon; great-grandchild Olivia; Sisters Lil, Terry and Irene (Paul); sister-in-laws Kay, Helena, Sandy; brother-in-law Jim along with many nieces and nephews that loved “Aunty Mary”. Mom enjoyed life on the farm with the brothers and sisters; many a story was told of the hardships endured along with the fun times. The call of the big city got to her and a stint working in Toronto followed. Ties to the prairies brought her back and ended up in Regina working at the Novia Café for a bit, then marriage and kids. Raising 3 lovely boys kept her busy enough but not enough to turn away the neighborhood kids that us boys dragged home. Her perogies were famous with all our friends and many a feast happened at the Seidlik’s house. She loved her garden on Bond Street, spent many hours working in it and the production showed the care put in. She also spent many happy hours sewing for family and friends. When we were older, mom went back to the work force. Sewing wedding dresses for a time, then moving on to retail sporting goods working for Kyles and lastly Marathon Sporting Goods. Retirement took her back to the farm in Venn where a small cattle ranch was started until son Ron took over. Many great new friends were made during the Venn years and the grandchildren loved to visit Grandma at the farm. The move back to the city saw many life changes and moves; Bond Street house was sold and moves to 2 apartments followed. Still sewing, going visiting, Moose Jaw spa and that place (the Casino) were Granny’s entertainment. She got to spend more time with the grand kids in Regina and her only great-grandchild, which she loved all so dearly. Many of the out of town relatives would also make Mary’s place a stop for some fun, cards, aggravation and that place were highlights of visits. Then came the change, health issues popped up and the boys had to help out. We were not left alone help was fast and steady, Aunties Terry, Kay, Helena and Elenor, Uncle Jim, Carol McAfee were there to lend help and time for Mom. Thanks to, Cousin Chris for his help and guidance. Doctor Montbriand and his staff for all the effort with Mom. All our friends and family that supplied support through this journey. The staff of Paragon and Our Lady of Peace for your assistance. We will be forever in your debt. Mom’s last days were spent at the Pasqua Hospital 4A and Salvation Army’s Grace Hospice, were the caring staff did their best to keep her as comfortable as possible, Thanks to all of you dedicated and compassionate souls.
