Charlie "Horse" Hoskins passed away peacefully on November 27, 2018 at the age of 91. Charlie was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret Allison Hoskins (McMurray) of 54 years who passed away on April 04, 2017 at the age of 79. Charlie is survived by his two sons Kelly and Terry Hoskins (Jennifer). He was the proud grandfather of 6 grandkids; Lance Kruger, Bailey, Hunter, Pierce, Doc, and little Lena Hoskins. Charlie will be greatly missed by his family and friends; who's grieve is partially consoled by the memory of a strong man with a kind and gentle heart. Charlie was born in 1927 to hard working parents Charles & Lena (Garret) Hoskins. Charlie grew up in Broadview Saskatchewan during some incredibly hard times for people and families to endure; the Great Depression and World War 2. Charlies memories of the Depression years and War shaped some of his character and his work ethics. Charlie grew up in a large family with his brothers; James, Leo, Edmond (Red) and sisters; Merle, Eva, Ilene, and Tresea Hoskins. As a young man Charlie tried to enlist with the Navy to fight in World War 2; however, a little too young and was rejected. Charlie joined the ranks of the CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway) in 1946. Charlie very much enjoyed his time with the railroad and it became the biggest part of his identity; he loved working the rail lines, his fellow railroaders, and the company. Charlie retired in 1986 and continued to be a strong supporter of the CPR while enjoyed the benefits of his hard-earned CPR pension for 32 years. The Family of "Charles Leslie Hoskins" wishes to extend our thanks to the CPR for the value they brought to his life and in the full support of his retirement until his death. Charlie was predeceased by all his brothers and sisters; the last of a strong and honourable family. Charlies spirit is persevered within his children and their children; his ethics, values, and memories. A man can be defined by his actions...and I know no greater man.
