Obituary of Constance Duczek
Connie (Constance) Marie Duczek of Regina passed away Monday, February 25, 2019, in her 68th year after a courageous battle with cancer. Connie was born in Melville, SK, to Leonard and Elma Schlechter on June 15, 1951, the oldest of 4 children. She fondly remembers growing up in Grayson, SK. and getting into mischief with her cousins. Connie married Bob (Robert) Duczek in 1970, residing in Regina, where they raised their three boys. Connie loved being a mother and grandmother, and was often sewing or crocheting clothes and toys for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her spare time being creative -- painting, drawing and making jewelry – as well as reading and watching movies. Family was most important to her, and she looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren, babysitting and attending their performances and games. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bob; children, Jason (Nancy), Joseph, Adam and Rachel; Cory (Carolyn) and Heidi; Lee; her mother, Elma Schlechter; brothers Wayne (Anita) Schlechter and Brian (Jane) Schechter; sister Cathy (Dave) Quinlan; brother-in-law David (Susan) Duczek and sister-in-law Terry (Ray) Hoedel; nephews, Curtis and Kevin Hoedel, Ken and Derrick Duczek, Jade, Ryan and Shaun Schlechter and nieces Joanne (Gerard) Gelowitz, Kristen Quinlan and their families. Connie is predeceased by her father, Leonard Schlechter; father-in-law, Joseph Duczek; mother-in-law, Eva Duczek; dear cousins Grace Galanos and Sharon Stradeski; niece Cassandra Quinlan, as well as uncles, aunts and cousins. Special thanks to Dr. Zarkovic and the nurses and staff in Pasqua Hospital 3A and 3B. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie’s memory to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Avenue Regina, SK, S4T 7T1.
