Obituary of Joseph Kazeil
Joseph Kazeil was born on August 9, 1936, into a loving home in Leinan, SK.
Joe grew up in a large family and always embraced the love and support a family provided. Growing up in an environment rich in support, influenced his strong belief of the importance of family. Joe was always very proud of his Lebanese heritage and passed many traditions on to his children.
Joe was a long-time member of the business community. His most enjoyable business venture was the years spent in the school bus business operating Western Superior Bus lines with is younger brother, Jim. Joe participated and sat on many boards and gave back generously to the community. His involvement with the Cosmopolitan Centers were near and dear to his heart. Joe officially entered retirement after the sale of Zipper Courier, a company he operated with his son, Randal.
Joe’s last 20 years were spent sharing his wisdom and guiding his son Kirby, Kirby’s wife, Natalie and their daughters at Suds Car Wash. He was an anchor in the stability of the business, and he offered a strength only a father can; Joe’s influence made the business the success it is today.
Joe’s sanctuary was his office at the car wash, where his buddies would gather to play Gin Rummy. His friends would pop in and talk about politics and the state of our country and how to make it better. His office also was a place his family would retreat to during the day just to be with Joe. This office will forever be our safe place.
Joe will always be remembered for his many life-time achievements and awards received over the years. He experienced a full and successful life and career. Joe was a real legend of our time … but if you asked him how he’d like to be remembered I’m sure he’d say – “the love for his family”. The love he had with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a privilege to witness.
To truly honour his memory, it would be very important to him to mention the special relationship he had with his daughter, Jodi. They had a beautiful bond unlike any other.
Joe was a proud husband of his wife and companion, Nancy and especially her love for horses and of course, Nina their dog.
Joe died suddenly but peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2023, with his son, Kirby, by his side.
Joe is survived by his wife Nancy; children Leesa (David), Randal (Christa), Kirby (Natalie) and Jodi (Tom); beloved sisters Sophie, Mary and June; aunt Jessie; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Jeff; mom and dad Alec and Iyshie; and brothers Toby, Bill, Kelly and Jim.
Dad,
The moment that you died my heart was torn in two,
one side filled with heartache, the other died with you.
I lie awake at night, when the world is fast asleep,
and take a walk down memory lane,
with tears upon my cheeks.
Remembering you is easy,
I’ll do that everyday,
but missing you is heartache
that will never go away.
I’ll hold you tightly within my heart
and there you will remain.
Until the joyous day arrives,
That we will meet again.
Please join us as we celebrate Joe’s life at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Living Hope Alliance Church, 3800 Green Falls Drive, Regina, SK.
