My sincere sympathy to Murray's family. In had the honor to work with Murray during my 35 years as Secrertary Treasurer/Administrator of the 4 rural municiaplies I worked for. Murray was helpful and fair in assisting me in the many phases of the hail insurance industry. He was a pleasure to chat with and had a wry sense of humor. May you enjoy the memories that he shared with us.

Murray was a wonderful Brother-in-law to me.
I spent lots of time with Murray, working at Municipal Hail (summers), living with Murray, Sandra, Mark and Laura on a few occasions (while going to school and working). He was always kind and caring.
He was proud of his family and loved spending time with his Grandchildren.
I'll always remember Murray as being welcoming to myself and my family. He enjoyed making friends with Carter.
Deepest condolences to Sandra, Mark and Laura and families. Always remember the special times you had.
Love Karen, Jim and family.

Murray was not only my brother but also my boss as I worked at Municipal Hail Insurance for my summer job. Murray would walk by my work station and kick the leg of my chair on the way to his office. His way of saying Good Morning!
I will remember Murray for his kindness, strength and sense of humour. I cherish the memories!
My condolences to Sandra and her family.
All my love,
Jean Weild (Otterson)

It with sadness that we received the news of Murray's passing from Rod. This news ofcourse came as a great shock as Murray was young and healthy. I worked at Municial Hail from 1975 to 1999 and got to know Sandra and Murray quite well. We lost track of each other after Murray retired and I moved to Ontario. Reading his obituary, I am so glad to know that Murray led a very active and full life right to the end surrounded by his family.
Our deepest condolences go to Sandra and the whole family.

As the closet living neighbour to Murray and Sandra, we are deeply saddened and devastated for the loss of Murray. As new comers, we moved to the next door to Murray and Sandra’s house and that is how we got to learn about Murray. He was such a sophisticated man with a great heart. Never hesitated sharing things with people like us which didn’t speak English well enough that led to difficulty of communicating, yet he continued to care and poured kindness that made us feel at home and welcomed. We often joked about why we can’t move to a new house is because of our wonderful neighbour! Murray was not just a neighbour living next to us but more like a wise and wonderful friend you can always go and ask for an advice. Though the time with this wonderful man was very short but the memories of him will remain in us for the longest time.

My brother loved to tease me, I was probably and easy mark!! The most memorable event…Murray liked to chase me with the motorcycle, I thought I would be safe in the house but alas he came in right behind me though the back porch turned the corner and up the 3 stairs to the kitchen. I found safety on the stairs to the second floor. He revved to bike like he was going to try the stairs, but mom sent him packing out the sun porch and the front door. Never a dull moment on the Otterson farm!
This was also the man that taught me to drive in the big city of Regina. Coming from not being allowed to drive on Main Street in Gravelbourg, Regina was a really big deal. I must have been a good student as he allowed me to drive his Super Bee!!
Today I found myself whistling, anyone who knows my brother knows he was a whistler!!

I have many many fond memories of Murray as I grew up with him attending school in Palmer. Family holiday gatherings were always a highlight. I have one distinct rather silly memory- when Earl was born, Murray and I had serious discussions about naming that baby boy (as if we had any real influence). I will treasure those memories. Cousin Janice.

We cannot express how sad we are that you and your family lost Murray. Getting to know Murray was a great honour. We certainly enjoyed our visits with Murray and Sandra. Camping was such great fun and we certainly enjoyed your hospitality in Casa Grande when we visited. He will be greatly missed. Just know we are and have been thinking of you in this difficult time.
