1959 - 2024

Pearl June (nee Dyck) Frostad went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Friday, June 7, 2024, just three days shy of her 65^th birthday.

Pearl was born in Saskatoon, SK on June 10, 1959, to Isaac and Tena (nee Streimer) Dyck. She and her twin brother, Arden, were the youngest of seven children born to Isaac and Tena.

After graduating from Waldheim High School in 1978, Pearl went on to Bethany Bible Institute (later Bethany College), formerly in Hepburn, SK for a year and a half. Having finished college, she became involved in the Forest Grove Young Adult Group in Saskatoon. It was there that she met Gary Frostad. They shared a love of sports, family, and the Lord, and were eventually married on August 11, 1984. Their first son Devon was born in 1986, and after moving back to her family home in Waldheim, she and Gary welcomed their youngest son, Christopher, in 1990.

Anyone who knew Pearl knew that she LOVED making food for people. She spent 16 years as the assistant head cook at Bethany College, three summers as Head Cook at Camp Elim (Lac Pelletiere), a summer as Head Cook at Glad Tidings Bible Camp (Mossbank), and lately as the Food Services Coordinator at Dallas Valley Ranch Camp (Lumsden) for five years until a recurring leg issue forced her into early retirement. That certainly did not stop her from cooking and baking with anyone who would stay for an hour or so in her kitchen, however, as she now had more time available. She spent this past summer doing “Peel and Pray with Pearl” out at Dallas Valley, since she wanted to be involved in helping the camp.

What Pearl loved the most was her family. Devon, his wife Rebecca, and their daughter Mia were often invited over to join her and Gary for dinner, as they live a short distance away in Regina. Any excuse to go visit her siblings, her kids, her grandkids, and her cousins was more than enough reason to go. She was often going to visit her cousins in Saskatoon or her sister in Alberta. Just this past month, Pearl had been visiting with some of her siblings and cousins for a couple of weeks before spending a week in the Calgary area with Chris, his wife Shae, and their children Boaz, Jayna, and Roran.

Pearl is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Gary Frostad; sons Devon (Rebecca) and Christopher (Shaelyn); grandchildren Boaz, Mia, Jayna, and Roran; siblings Stan (Cecile) Dyck, Laverna Phillip, Rosemary (Doug) Lane, and Arden (Jackie) Dyck; “sister-cousins” Janice Streimer, Jeannie Garbe, and Carla Goertzen; brothers- and sisters-in-law David (Adeline) Frostad, Carl (Cecile Corbiere) Frostad, Claire (Esther) Frostad, Nata (David) Kline, Rhys Frostad, Veleta (Delmer) Klassen and Jeffery Frostad; sister-in-love Sandra Frostad; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Pearl was predeceased by her parents Isaac and Tena (nee Streimer) Dyck; parents-in-law Gerald and Daisy (nee Jeffery) Frostad; siblings Ronald Gordon Dyck and Pearl Anne Dyck; brother-in-law Ron Phillip; two unborn children; three unborn grandchildren; and niece Becca Frostad.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Faith Baptist Church, 437 Broadway Avenue East, Regina, SK.
