There is no way to describe the beautiful beautiful man that Jack was. He always had a smile. He always listened with intent. Always made me laugh. One of the most genuine soft-hearted, kind men that I had the privilege of knowing. I will always treasure us playing the accordion together. We always looked forward to seeing him every Summer. A true highlight of our trip. God rest his soul.

I have many wonderful Memories of Len's Uncle Jack because despite the death of Len's mother Lena at the birth of the twins, Jack and Jeanne made a point of always including us as Family in all their Family celebrations. Len was never made to feel abandoned by his mother's family. When I happily married in to this extended Family, I have three special memories to share that stand out.
1) When we had been married only a couple of years, we were living in a trailer at CFB Southport, MB. Jack and Jeanne and family stopped in to see us on their car trip across Canada. Their rambunctious teenage kids went swimming in the Base pool. At dinner, Dean happily held 1 year old Noland on his lap and fed him. Despite a rather cramped overnight accommodation, we thoroughly enjoyed being a stop on this Family's summer holiday journey.
2) When Jack and Jeanne stopped in at our home in PA many years later, I noted with joy that Uncle Jack could not walk past our piano in the Living room. Every time he was within proximity, he simply had to sit down and play. His JOY of Music made a wonderful impression on our piano practice " reluctant" boys.
3) Upon my first visit to their wonderful cottage at Katepwa Lake, shortly after Len's death, memories brought me to tears, and Uncle Jack came and hugged me and said, " it's ok, go ahead and cry. Tears wash away sorrow, and sometimes it takes a LOT of Washing." His genuine compassion endured my sobbing.
I am grateful forever to Jack Jeanne and their family for the inclusion, acceptance, and love they so generously shared with our family . This world needs more loving souls like Jack, and it will be a sadder place now without him. My sincere condolences to Jeanne and their wonderful family, and BIG HUGS to help while their tears are washing away their sorrow.
Sincerely,
Bev Krush & Family

Dear Lucyk Family,
We are very sadden by the news of Jack passing away. We have been thinking about all of you !
Jack was a friend and made a lasting impact on all of us. We have not seen him too often, but some people you never forget. He made us all feel so welcome when we came for Christmas to your home. He was such a special individual that radiated peace and love. We will always remember his sense of humor and his curiosity for us all, for life, for everyone around him. This is his artwork he has given us, when he visited in Denver.
May the memories of a good time he spent with all of you give you peace and comfort now.
Rest in Peace, Grandpa Jack.

This is a very sad message. Fortunately we saw Jack and Jeanne last year. We had a nice breakfast together and good conversations about the moments we shared together in the past. A great man has gone now. We will remember his humor, his wisdom, his thoughtfullnes and his interest in people. He was such a well-balanced guy and example for us. We wish Jeanne and the rest of the family all the strenght they"ll need to cope with this big loss. Jack, you will always be in our mind. Cheers, Olga, Olav and Wolter van der Veen
