Jack was born in Balcarres, SK and grew up on a farm, one of 12 children. He obtained his teaching certificate and later his degree. Dad started teaching in small one room schoolhouses and villages throughout southern Saskatchewan. He settled in Montmartre, SK where he taught Grade 6 music. He had so many loves, passions, and interests it is hard to imagine. Dad created and played music for many people to enjoy. He played the accordion, piano, trumpet, saxophone, and organ. Dad would spend hours designing, coloring, painting, and writing poems which he later published. He loved nature and was able to identify most birds and flowers. He loved playing badminton, tennis, and finally, pickleball, which he played until he was 85 years old. What Dad will be missed for most is his love of meeting people. Wherever he went, he took a genuine interest in others. He loved to figure out if maybe they were related. Dad left a lasting impression with everyone he met. He was Grandpa Jack to many.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Christ the King R.C. Parish, 3239 Garnet St., Regina, SK with Rev. Louis Kim Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Ave. E., Regina, SK.
