Obituary of Dee Kenneth Renwick
RENWICK, DEE
I feel I was one of the Luckiest guys on earth, thanks for the 58 years.
Dee Kenneth late of Regina and Mesa, Arizona and formerly of Milestone passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018.
Dee was predeceased by his parents Ken (2000) and Florence (2007) and many aunts and uncles. Dee is survived by many dear friends: Chris & Deborah and their kids Maddie & Emmett Mohr; Rae, Preston & Kenlee Norbeck; Special friends Don, Lindy, Richard, Lanceen, Boyd & Marie, Merv, Shawn, Princess, Susan, Tiffany & Barry; special aunt Bernice Knouse; as well as over 250 cousins, Becks, Taylors, Knouses, Heibergs, Renwicks; many funeral business colleagues and many AA friends.
October 12, 2016 my life changed forever when 2 Neurologist doctors in Regina told me I had ALS disease. I condensed 20 years of retirement into 2 years and my bucket list has spilled over as I wanted to do as much as possible. Some of you got to drive my Cayenne S to help with your bucket list!
Dee was a friend, uncle, co-worker, farmer, licensed funeral director, monument salesman, backhoe contractor, car salesman, photographer, AA member, coroner, ice tea drinker, traveler, chew of Skoal & toothpicks, handyman, pickleball player, golfer, boater and many more.
Dee grew up on his parent’s farm at Milestone, driving at age 7. Farming was his goal from a young age. Graduating from Milestone School, then in 1979 pursued a career in the funeral business, where he assisted many families over the years as a funeral director. He took great pride in being a licensed funeral director, however farming with his dad Ken was enjoyable (most of the time!). Dee only owned Red paint “Case-IH”. Dee retired from farming in 2012.
Over the years he owned Dee’s Trenching and R2D2 Enterprises Inc. Many of his friends received a pen, a fly swatter, a t-shirt or a sweat shirt from one of these companies. I paid it forward to many people.
Dee, by choice, had no children of his own, however he was married twice. When his friends kids had babies, they received a bright M & M blanket. Some of you have received a farm toy from his 30 year toy collection.
Dee’s best accomplishment in life was joining Alcoholics Anonymous on February 26, 1990 meeting good and true friends. Thanks to all of you for your help thru my life. Dee was known by many for growing his apple lemon round cucumbers. The fun times were spent collecting farm toys, vehicle license plates (2 – TALL & 92), going to toy shows, camping and water skiing at Dunnet Park and Kenosee Lake, driving his yellow Corvette convertible and later Mercedes car, Porsche Cayenne S, his winter trips to Waikiki beach in Hawaii and later his condo in Mesa, Arizona were awesome. Dee met many dear friends wherever he visited and kept in contact with them. He served on many boards: Milestone Rural Fire Department, United Church, Elks, Pine Lodge and Windsor Park Estate Condominium. Dee was a prankster who liked to tease and be teased back.
Funny thing is my brothers never reached out to me except for my niece Corinne Labbie when they heard I had ALS.
