My sincere condolences to Dave's family. I will always remember Dave's wonderful smile from our many days on the Legion Color Party together over the years. I always enjoyed talking with him, always a story to tell. I know he will be missed by many. Cherish your memories of him.

We thank him for our freedom and his service to our country, branch and community. Dave was someone to aspire to, admire and respect. He will be missed around the Legion, and WE WILL REMEMBER him.
So sad to hear of Mr Ewart's passing.
He was our next door neighbour for about 53 years.
I'm glad to see that there is mention of Dave's "interesting" sense of humour in the obit. One of the last times we spoke over the back fence when my parents were moving from their home he said that "he hoped that some young girls were going to move in and install a swimming pool"...... I think he was about 91 at the time.

I extend my condolences to Dave's family. I knew him through an email and a telephone interview which I had with him for my book The Forces and the Faces (2011). I still have the voice recording of the interview. In a review of my book, the reporter for the Surrey BC Leader referred to Dave having spent about 80% of his time in Italy in his tank. May he long be remembered!
